And he really just wanted to be Lord of Storm’s End and nothing else. It’s his home. It’s like Winterfell for the Stark kids. But he couldn’t have it after the rebellion. And he can’t accept it when Renly offers it to him because DUTY. And he basically gives it up when he goes North. And he knows that even if he wins the throne and rules the Seven Kingdoms … he’ll have to stay in King’s Landing and can’t go home. But Storm’s End will go to his second son one day, in a happy perfect future. And Stannis just hopes that his son will love it as much as he does.
